Brazil: Bible Society Celebrates 60th Anniversary

In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Bible Society of Brazil kicks off a campaign to arrange for the Portuguese Bible to be transcribed, verse by verse, by hand in every one of Brazil's 26 states and the federal district, as well as two additional copies, for a total of 29.  A ceremony at the Society's Bible museum, the Museu da BĂblia, will take place on August 19 with Tzipora Rimon, the Israeli ambassador to Brazil (Israel also celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.) The Brazilian Bible Society is also launching a new virtual bookstore this month.
