Cook International partners with local churches, ministries, and other organizations, and equips Christian publishers, to effectively provide believers with Biblical resources for evangelism and discipleship.
Why do we this?
First, we think it is biblical. The Word (John 1:1) is communicated to us both through the living letters (2 Cor. 3:2), the people of the Church, and through its teaching—both Scripture and its exposition (2 Tim. 3:14-4:2). We want to help the Church grow and stand firm in the faith by encouraging the dissemination of Scripture and of materials that show us how to apply it in our own lives.
Second, we think it strategic. Christian literature reaches more people than many other mission methodologies. Most books have multiple readers. Literature can go into places where Christians themselves cannot go and remains where they cannot stay.
Third, we think it is practical. National authors, editors, publishers and distributors, know their people; they understand their language and their culture; they can better understand, and help us use, the infrastructure available for most effective literature distribution. They can respond quickly to local needs and changing market conditions.
Finally, we think it is faithful. God calls each of us to maximize our gifts "for the common good" (1 Cor. 12:7). He has called Cook to share its resources and expertise and to likewise learn from others as we constitute one body and together glorify His Name.
